Liam's birthday was great. I baked him a yellow cake from scratch. I had meant to go get a box, but I didn't get around to it, so I tried one of the recipes in Paul's cookbook. Funny thing about our marriage- Paul came in with most of the cookbooks and kitchen appliances. I do most of the cooking now though. :) When I'm not begging Paul to take me out to eat. (I love cheeseburgers and pizza.) Anyway, here's a pic of the cake. Yay.
We had a party for him the Sunday after his birthday. That was lots of fun too. We invited all the family we had in the area and had the most people our apartment has ever held at one time.
It's hard to believe it's been a whole year since he was born. He is walking really well now and saying cute things like Mama and banana. We're so proud. I made it my personal goal today to make Liam laugh out loud. My mom commented on how Liam is "so serious" all the time when we were at their house for the weekend. It got me wondering if that had something to do with my mothering style and if I needed to lighten up a bit. So today I've been sort of playing the clown and Liam is loving it!! Alright, I'll admit it, I am too!
Okay this one is kinda blurry but I just had to post this pic of Liam with his bear! If you want Liam to smile, just pull out bear and ask him "Where's bear? Go get bear." He goes and gets bear pretty consistently. Then he'll grin and carry bear all over the apartment. Paul's Grandma Emra gave us that bear when I was still pregnant with Liam. It's really sweet to see how much he loves it now. :)
Oh! NEWS ITEM: I voted!! Aren't you proud?? I've never actually taken the time to vote in a presidental election before, but this time I felt like I had too. Too bad my guy lost. But, hey, he took Texas right? Well, good luck to Barry O. he's sure going to need it.
Well, I hear my little man calling. He's awake at last. Yay! Time to play! Later gaters.
