Thankful... hmm

So, have you written your "I'm thankful for..." list for this year? Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away and I think it is a constructive idea to make a couple of lists, so here goes.

I'm thankful for...

Modern Baby Gear, Such As...

1. disposable diapers (like I would have time to wash diapers-- and he can potty on himself for hours before he notices :) ... don't worry I change him as soon as I notice. LOL. Some afternoons all he wears is his diaper... after four outfit distroying #2s in a row, you just don't see the point anymore.)

2. strollers... (boy the little guy can get heavy, hopefully I'll be strong enough to take him around in the carrier more soon too.)

3. straws (I know, not exactly baby gear, but if you have ever tried to drink something while holding a baby, you'll see how much easier straws can make your life. :)

My Family (AKA the sappy part of today's post)

1. My husband is awesome. He's sooo good with the baby... he even helps with diapers. I love you Paulo!!

2. Umm... hello, Liam is the best baby in the universe, hands down. Have you ever seen such as cute baby?? I didn't think so. :)

3. My original family... I have great parents, what can I say? I plan to sleep in their dinning room on Thursday night. Slumber party. Woo hoo... oh and my sister and brother are very cool as well... though they are both living TOO FAR AWAY!!

4. My inherited family. I got really lucky with my in-laws. LA-Mom & Dad, you rock... and the whole rest of the gang... even Brian. ;)

Other Random Stuff I Wouldn't Want To Do Without

1. Deoderant

2. Tootpaste

3. Books

4. Sunday afternoons

And... Oh, I'm sure there's more, but that's all for now. Coming soon: Thanksgiving photos. :)
(Sorry there are no fun photos with this post... having trouble with the upload feature... ugg)

Busy Baby

So, Liam must have been going through a growth spurt or something the last few days... it seems like he wants to eat every five minutes! And don't get me started on those massive number 2's woo wee. He's been better today though and gotten in a couple of good long naps (2 1/2 hours one time). Fortunately he takes slightly longer naps at night (3 hours or so between feedings), so it feels like I've slept all night by the time Paul's alarm goes of at 6:30. (Right, LOL) He napped very well for me in the baby carrier this morning which was nice. Now he's tuckered out again and I'm glad to have a minute or two to blog. Being a mom is busy business. Wouldn't trade it though... my little angel is adorable... but you'll have to take my word for it today... no time to upload a pic... maybe tomorrow. Love to you wherever you are... :)

Creative Surges: The Pillow Case Dress

So, there's something about being a mommy that gives you sort of extra surges of creative energy. For example: I see an empty juice bottle and think to myself: planter? windchime? funnel? volcano base? Seriously, I'm turning into a worse packrat than I was before. I just keep thinking, hmm... what could I make out of that? It actually reminds me of a time when I was a little girl and Easter snuck up on us. Every year my sister and I would get a new dress for Easter Sunday. Well, that particular year either we had forgotten to shop or couldn't afford new dresses. This didn't upset me at all until I realized the night before (well this is how I remember it...) that I didn't have a new dress. Then my mom had a surge of creative energy. She busted out an old pink pillowcase, some buttons, and some eyelet lace and made me the best Easter dress ever. Of all my many special Easter Sunday dresses, that one will always be my favorite. The one my mom just whipped together the night before... Moms are so cool... it's a lot to live up to isn't it. Well I think that's all for today folks. The little man is keeping me sooo busy. Oh and for your viewing pleasure, here are some random Liam photos...

Boo, Strollers, and Baths

So Halloween was eventfull. Liam was given two Halloween outfits. So, though I don't like Halloween, I had a lot of fun dressing him up. It made it a lot easier to decide what to dress him in. We also went on our very first outing in the stroller. LA-Grammy and I took Liam on a walk to the leasing office to pay our rent. It was fun to introduce the little man to everyone. He is so cute!

Here are some spooky pics of Liam in his outfits.

Thanks to Liz for the second outfit pictured. It actually arrived in the mail on October 30, just in time for Liam to wear the next day.

Liam also had his first bath in the bathtub from Nana. Daddy is very good at giving baths because the nice lady in the nursery at the hospital taught him the "correct" way to bathe an infant. LOL. Like there aren't 400 "good enough" ways to do any and everything. ;)

Saturday was Liam's first visit to Chuckie Cheese's. It was Cousin Alex's birthday. Liam did great and slept through all the noise and hardly fussed at all while Mommy and Daddy played skee ball and ball and hit the moles with the hammers. It was so fun, and the pizza was actually not as bad as I remembered.

I went to the doc again yesterday. Says I'm looking good, or uh... my incision is looking good at least... In three weeks I'll have my final postpartum checkup and be probably be cleared for regular activities again. I'm pretty much back to regular activities anyway, but it will be nice to have the "all clear" light.

So, Liam and I made it though first couple of days of just the two of us. I think things went off without a hitch. We even went up to have lunch with Daddy at his office yesterday. Liam did very well in the car. He's been very good today and only a little fussy. I'm amazed at the amount of #2 the little guy can put in a diaper and not notice.... uh oh gotta go...
